A Night of Celebration

The Black & White Ball on Saturday 27th September 2025 at The Glen Pavilion was not only an evening of glamour and celebration, but also a chance to shine a light on the people who make an extraordinary difference to Dunfermline Athletic and the wider community.

In front of a packed audience of nearly 250 guests, including supporters, local businesses, players, and coaching staff, attendees enjoyed a three-course meal, live entertainment, Pars Heroes, Stevie Morrison and Barry Nicholson inducted into the prestigious DAFC Hall of Fame, The Pars Foundation Awards and an atmosphere filled with Pars pride.

The Pars Foundation Awards

At the heart of the night were the Pars Foundation Awards, recognising individuals whose passion, dedication, and community spirit embody the values of the Pars family. Finalists were celebrated alongside the winners, highlighting the remarkable contributions of local heroes. The Presenter, BBC Sport Scotland’s, Brian McLaughlin invited Courtney Wedlock, project officer, up along with Dunfermline Athletic FC’s Manager Neil Lennon to present the awards.

Pars Pride Award

The Pars Pride Award recognises an individual who has brought honour and pride to the Pars community through their actions and achievements. Whether it is through personal success, inspiring others, or representing Dunfermline Athletic with distinction, this award celebrates someone who captures the pride and passion of the club.

This year’s award went to Alana Chesher, who took on the remarkable challenge of running 5k every single day in May to raise awareness and funds for the Pars Foundation’s Walk and Talk groups. Alana raised more than £450 during the challenge, while also highlighting the benefits of being outdoors, staying active, and socialising to boost mental health. Her determination and positivity have made her an inspiration to many.

Pars Spirit Award

The Pars Spirit Award celebrates those who show exceptional kindness, teamwork, and community spirit. It acknowledges people who go the extra mile to make a positive difference in the lives of others, reflecting the togetherness and support that define both DAFC and the wider Dunfermline community.

This year, the award was presented jointly to Ian Johnston and Duncan Maclaren, who stepped up when the Pars Foundation’s summer Walk and Talk group faced uncertainty due to staffing changes. Determined not to let the group end, Ian and Duncan took the lead—supporting participants throughout and ensuring the walks continued to provide a safe, welcoming environment. Beyond this, both men are always the first to volunteer at Pars Foundation events, from bucket collections to community activities, setting an example of selflessness and reliability.

Pars Dedication Award

The Pars Dedication Award pays tribute to someone whose loyalty, commitment and hard work have made a real and lasting difference to both the club and the wider community. It recognises those who give their all, often without seeking the spotlight, and whose efforts help shape the success and spirit of the Pars family.

This year’s winner, Eddie Martin, has dedicated countless hours to helping others and in 2025 celebrated four years of the Walk and Talk group, which he founded. The initiative has brought people together and provided vital support for mental health. Eddie is also an active member of the Pars Foundation and the wider DAFC community, always ready to support others with kindness and consistency.
