1. Who can volunteer with the PARS Foundation?
Anyone over the age of 18 can apply to volunteer. If you’re under 18, you’ll need parental or guardian consent. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, skills, and experiences. If you are from the age of 12 - 25 we can support you through the Saltire Awards.
2. Do I need prior experience?
No! We provide training and guidance for each role. What matters most is enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
3. What kind of volunteer roles are available?
We have a variety of opportunities, including:
Event support
Fundraising
Coaching
Outreach & community engagement
Education & mentoring
Specialist skills (e.g., translation, IT)
4. How much time do I need to commit?
We’re flexible. Some roles may be one-off for an event, others may require regular weekly or monthly involvement. You can indicate your availability when you apply.
5. How do I apply?
Simply complete our Volunteer Enquiry Form on the website. We will then contact you to discuss available opportunities. Any questions email enquiries@parsfoundation.co.uk
6. Do I need a background check?
Depending on the role (especially those involving children, vulnerable adults, or sensitive data), you may be asked to complete a PVG background check before starting.
7. Can volunteering help me gain work experience?
Absolutely. Many volunteers develop new skills, gain references, and build networks that can support their career goals.
8. How will my contribution be recognised?
We celebrate and acknowledge our volunteers through thank-you events, certificates, and sharing success stories on our website and social media. If you are 12-15 we also help recognise your time by using the Saltire Awards.
9. Do I need to bring my own equipment or uniform?
Any required equipment or uniform will be provided, unless otherwise stated for a specific role.
10. Can I suggest my own volunteer project or idea?
Definitely! We love hearing creative ideas that align with our mission. Share your proposal with our team and we’ll explore it together.
