The Pars Foundation is delighted to welcome Chris Sim as its new Football Development Manager, strengthening the Foundation’s commitment to delivering high-quality football and community programmes across the region.
With a strong background in coaching, player development and pathway design, Chris brings a wealth of experience from both the boys’ and girls’ game, alongside a clear passion for community football and coach development.
"I am delighted to be joining The Pars Foundation as the new Football Development Manager. Throughout my time working in other organisations, I consistently heard fantastic things about The Pars Foundation and the Community Club, which speaks volumes about the passion, commitment, and quality of the work already being delivered. It’s clear that the Foundation has a strong reputation for making a real impact, and I’m excited to contribute to that ongoing success
A little bit about me and my journey to get to where I am today. I graduated from Napier University in May 2025 with a BSc Honours Degree in Football Coaching, Performance and Development. I currently hold my UEFA B Licence, UEFA Elite Youth B Licence and currently going through my UEFA Youth A Licence.
I began my coaching career in the boys’ game in 2015 with a local grassroots club, before moving to Spartans in 2017. During my time at Spartans, I was Head Coach for the Boys 2010 and 2011 age groups working directly with parent coaches and focusing on long term player development and mentoring the coaches at the start of their coaching journey.
In 2019, just before covid, I transitioned into the girls’ game, joining Hearts Girls Academy as an Academy Coach starting with the U11s and continued with that group through to U14. Prior to leaving Hearts, I played a key role in the development and integration of the club’s Development Squad and pre‑academy pathway which worked directly with some of the top young talent in the country with a view of them joining the academy set up.
Following this period, I was appointed Head of Spartans Girls Academy overseeing their Regional and Next Gen pathways. Alongside this role, I also work with the Spartans Women’s First Team as Assistant Head Coach and Performance Analyst, roles I am still involved with.
I’m thrilled to begin what I believe will be a long term and exciting journey with the Foundation. My focus will be on enhancing, expanding and growing our community outreach programmes, while also working closely with our dedicated coaches within the community club to support them on their coaching journey. I’m passionate about building on the great work that has already happened and helping create even more opportunities for people across our community to engage, participate, and thrive."
